Yesterday afternoon Rexx, a 17 week old puppy, came in because he was vomiting and feeling bad. When he came in he was one sick puppy. Dr. Menasco took xrays and then did a barium study. We could not see an obstruction on the regular xrays but with barium the culprit was obvious. A corn cob a little less than 2 inches long was lodged in the small intestine. We took Rexx to surgery yesterday afternoon and after a night in the hospital on IV fluids Rexx is doing great. He went home this morning and was definitely feeling much better. Rexx is a strong pup and lucky to have owners that got him in to us in time!
