
Dr. Watson is the new lead doctor at Powhatan Animal Hospital as of May 2022, with over 30 years of veterinary experience. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania spending the early years of his career as a large animal veterinarian.
Dr. Watson's most recent professional experiences have been as a medical director of the University Veterinary Clinic in Fairfax Virginia.
His professional passions are companion animal medicine and wellness, small animal reproduction and neonatal medicine, canine and feline geriatric medicine, age-related health care, internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology.
Dr. Watson is an apologist for pain-free/fear-free pet lifestyles, adoption education/no-kill shelters, life expectancy enhancement, and state-of-the-art veterinary care supported by telemedicine.
Dr. Watson and his wife Donna share six adult children and three grandchildren-with 'one on the way.’
They spend their leisure time biking, kayaking, and searching for old collectibles but mostly spend time playing with their three French Bull Dogs and geriatric kitty Wubsey, queen of the house.
